On the day they signed the papers, their lawyer, Frank, invited them to their favorite restaurant. During the meal, Charles asked the waiter to dim the lights and ordered a salad for Rose. Furious, she believed he was still controlling her and stormed out.
That night, Rose packed her belongings and left. Charles stayed behind, devastated and confused. Before dawn, he wrote her a heartfelt letter, explaining that everything he had done was out of love. He also noticed she had forgotten her daily medication and desperately tried calling her.
Rose ignored his calls, believing he was trying to manipulate her into returning. But while worrying about her, Charles suffered a severe heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
When Frank called Rose with the news, her anger instantly disappeared. She rushed home to collect some things for Charles and discovered the letter he had written.
