Part 2: The Security Breach

Part 4: The Eviction Notice

Marcus stepped forward, pulling a crisp digital document up on his secure tablet. “Ms. Jessica Albright. Your apartment on 5th Avenue is owned by OmniCorp Realty Trust. As of three minutes ago, your corporate-sponsored lease has been terminated due to a breach of the moral turpitude clause. You have exactly twenty-four hours to vacate the premises before legal bailiffs remove your belongings.”

Jessica’s jaw dropped. She turned to Brendan, shaking his arm violently. “Brendan! You told me your family owned that building! You told me you were the VP!”

“He’s a regional manager of logistics, Jessica,” I intervened, my voice smooth and chillingly calm. “And a terrible one at that. He only got the job because I signed off on a nepotism waiver three years ago to keep his father from going under.”

Brendan’s father looked like he was having a heart attack. He stared at me, the arrogance completely draining from his wrinkled face. “Cassidy… please. We didn’t know. Diane was just playing a joke! It was just a little water!”

“A little dirty water over a pregnant woman’s head,” I corrected, standing up slowly. The water pooled around my chair, but I had never felt more powerful. “You all stood by and laughed while your son drained our marital assets to buy Jessica that diamond bracelet she’s wearing tonight. You called my unborn daughter a ‘burden.’ Well, now you get to carry the burden of your own actions.”

Part 5: The Throne Room

Brendan fell to his knees right there on the Persian rug, his hands outstretched toward me in a desperate, pathetic plea. “Cassidy, please! Think of our history! Think of the baby! If you fire me, I can’t pay child support! I won’t have anything!”

“Oh, don’t worry about child support, Brendan,” I said, stepping over his knees as Marcus threw a plush, dry cashmere coat over my shoulders. “My lawyers will be taking this mansion and your family’s remaining stock options as settlement. You won’t owe me a dime, because you won’t have a dime left to give.”

By Tuesday morning, the cleanup was complete.

Arthur’s legal team filed formal charges against Brendan for corporate embezzlement after discovering he had been using company funds to pay for his new girlfriend’s lavish vacations. He was stripped of his position, blacklisted from every major firm in the industry, and faces up to five years in federal custody.

Diane and her husband were forced to downsize from their luxurious estate into a cramped, two-bedroom suburban rental. The very mansion they used to look down on me from was converted into an OmniCorp-sponsored sanctuary for single mothers.

As for me? Two months later, I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. She will grow up knowing she is safe, loved, and entirely protected. Her father and his family thought they could treat me like garbage because I chose to stay quiet, but they forgot the most fundamental rule of the corporate world: never dump water on the person who holds the keys to the entire empire.
