Part 3: The Billionaire’s Wrath
“Oh, you don’t have to worry about a scene, Daniel,” I said, my voice echoing clearly. “But I think your ‘real love’ has some explaining to do to her actual husband.”
Daniel blinked, confused, but before he could speak, a heavy hand dropped onto his shoulder. Daniel spun around, ready to snap, but the color instantly drained from his tanned face as he looked up—and up—at the towering figure behind him.
“Arthur!” Vanessa gasped, her grip slipping from Daniel’s arm as if it had turned to fire. She took a terrified step back, her face turning as white as her silk blouse. “What… what are you doing here? You were supposed to be in Tokyo!”
Arthur, a high-profile hedge fund manager whose net worth could buy Daniel’s entire company a hundred times over, didn’t even look at her. His piercing glare was fixed entirely on my husband. “I cut my trip short to surprise my wife,” Arthur said, his voice dangerously low. “Imagine my surprise when I find her coming off a cruise with a low-level corporate analyst.”
Daniel swallowed hard, his bravado instantly evaporating. “Sir, I—we—she told me she was single! She said she owned the shipping line!”
Arthur let out a cold, humorless laugh that made everyone in the vicinity freeze.
